This was an internal project for the company I was working for at the time; a tech company focused on the development of mobile and web apps. The project was part of a local initiative calling for tech companies in Ciudad Juarez to create a positive impact on the city's community and infrastructure.

Mi Juárez Limpio is a mobile app targeted at local residents in Ciudad Juárez. It’s essentially a social media app focused on showcasing pictures and sharing advice. The objective was to create an app where the public could post positive photos, showcasing the beauty of our city, but also make claims about damaged infrastructure and streets. By exposing problems, we wanted to put pressure on the local government to implement solutions.

We also wanted to include a section where people could post blog posts where people can post advice and other entries.

Problem

Ciudad Juárez is a border city in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. It is unfortunately infamous for violence, insecurity and poor city planning. This has caused many inconveniences throughout the city’s infrastructure like: potholes, piles of trash, traffic accidents, graffiti, etc.

Goals

• Improve the circumstances of our streets; fixing potholes, general maintenance, etc.
• Showcase a positive image of our city with the public’s pictures.
• Help the community post useful advice.
